We filmed our 3rd podcast, which was recorded in the beautiful green and tranquil community garden of Kebun Kebun Bangsar. And what better venue to discuss the topic of "COP26 - The Importance of Low carbon transportation & green buildings" , especially when bicycling there from our office. In this 30 minute vlog, we discuss how the topic relates to the work we do at IEN Consultants and to our own personal aspirations for a sustainable World. Enjoy:

In this episode, IEN invited its multinational staff members, comprising Yamona Segar (Malaysian), Gregers Reimann (Danish) and Regina Ng (Singaporean) to discuss why transportation is vital in fighting climate change, and how we leverage our skills in the green building to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide occupants health & comfort at the same time.
As a participating member state of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Malaysia has been actively engaged in the annual Conference of Parties (COP) which is a gathering of all member states to review and monitor the goals of the UNFCCC, in particular and as of 2015, this goal has been to limit the rise in global temperature to well below 2 °C above pre-industrial levels, and to pursue means necessary to limit the increase to 1.5 °C.
Malaysia released its first Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) in 2016 during COP 21 which was revised earlier this year and states Malaysia's commitment to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity of GDP by 45% by 2030 relative to the emissions intensity of GDP in 2005.
