Evaluating Thermal Comfort in the Sultan Abdul Samad Building: Measurement Results and Public Survey
How does a tropical colonial climate responsive building design perform on a hot sunny afternoon? We went to find out by asking visitors to the Kuala Lumpur BSAS building, and by conducting thermal comfort measurements. Interestingly, regardless of the location, respondents felt more comfortable than our measurements predicted. Expectations of the Malaysian climate and acclimatisation effects could be possible explanations for this phenomenon.
