Automatic Optimisation of Window Shading to Achieve Net-Zero Energy
Presenting a simple parametric modeling framework on how to get useful results from computational optimisations. The study establishes the optimal solar shading for a residential building located in three very different climates ranging from tropical Malaysia to temperate Denmark. The parametric shade optimisation seeks to reduce the annual energy consumption of the building by getting the balance right between solar heat gain in the cold winter and shading the windows in the hot summer.

Biomimicry #02: Building Piling Inspired from Corn Plant Roots
The corn plant can achieve a slenderness ratio that is 6 times higher than any human designed building. The corn plants achieve this by using an advanced root system to stabilize the plant during heavy storms and rain. In this article, we focus on the building piling system called Pali Radice (Italian: Root piles), a foundation technique that mimics root strategies of corn plants.

Sustainable Reader's Book Club: No Miracles Needed by Mark Z. Jacobson
The world stands at a cross-road in energy planning. Mark Z. Jacobson presents the strongest arguments for 100% transition to renewable energy as the solution to climate change while addressing common concerns in the book "No Miracles Needed" (2023). Critically, Jacobson also addresses which technologies are commonly discussed as "green" but does not solve the energy transition challenges as effectively as renewables.
