Tropical Engineering Association (CQFD) talk

This newly formed association for young tropical engineers was co-founded by our former intern, Bryan Ellama, from the Reunion Island and Indian Ocean Engineering School (ESIROI). And as such, it was without hesitation that we accepted the invitation to give a talk entitled "High Performance Buildings in the Tropics".
The aspiration of the CQFD association (Quality Design for Sustainable Construction) very much aligns with our raison d'etre (reason for existence) at IEN Consultants, namely dedication to "continuous learning, technical excellence, and professional development". The association also has a goal to create a strong network of engineers who share knowledge, work on innovative projects, and eventually transition into a fully fledged engineering consultancy specialized in seismic‑resistant structures and tropical sustainable building design.
In my new role as an honorary member of CQFD (Conception Qualité Fabrication Durable), I was glad to assist in inspiring new generations of tropical sustainable building engineers with my online talk on 3 Oct 2026. The slides can be viewed/downloaded here:
