This is only part of the very impressive resumé of Malaysia's very own Dr. Ronald McCoy, who at the age of 96 passed away on 1st September 2026. Rest in peace, Ron, and thanks for all the lives that you touched!

IEN was delighted to be invited to conduct a 1-hour workshop on energy efficient building retrofits including the significant reductions in embodied carbon emissions from building materials for retrofits versus new construction. The attractive return of investment (ROI) was also presented. The workshop centred around 3 of IEN's completed building case studies.

IEN was honoured to be invited to give a guest lecture at Universiti Malaya about the importance of Healthy Work Spaces. We shared the convincing economic case for designing / retrofitting buildings to have a conducive and stimulating indoor environments that allow people to thrive. We used two of our projects, the Paramit factory and the Unilever Malaysia office, as case studies. And we used the Birdie air quality sensor for the first time - and the canary bird died!
